Ballet is a very disciplined art. Part of the discipline includes dress and grooming. All students must come to ballet class in uniform. Your child should wear a bodysuit, pink ballet tights and pink ballet shoes (for girls). The bodysuits are either “baby blue” or “navy” or “black” depending on the level of ballet your child is enrolled in. Check with the studio prior to purchasing your outfit. Boys wear black dance shorts and a white t-shirt, white socks, and black ballet shoes.
Clothing for jazz and tap must be stretchy. Some suggestions include, bodysuits and skirts, shorts and t-shirts, yoga style pants – anything that allows the body to move freely. Jeans are not permitted. Tap shoes are required for all tap classes. Gym slippers (for younger students) or jazz shoes are to be worn for all jazz classes.
Loose fitting clothes such as shorts and t-shirts or yoga pants and a top are suggested for this class. Clean, new running shoes are required for the feet. No outdoor shoes please!
Clothing for Acro must be stretchy. Some suggestions include bodysuits, shorts and t-shirts, yoga style pants – anything that allows the body to move freely. No footwear is permitted – bare feet only.
For Ballet classes students are required to wear their hair in a slicked back bun. For all other classes we require students to have hair in a bun, braids or a ponytail out of their eyes.
